Medium voltage power cables
Product Applications

Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated cables are suitable for power distribution networks, industrial installations, or other applications requiring high-capacity power. They are used for fixed installation on AC 50Hz power transmission and distribution lines with a rated voltage of 6kV to 35kV, primarily for transmitting electrical energy.

XLPE insulated flame-retardant cables prevent the spread of fire within the cable circuit, reducing losses from fires. They are suitable for locations with high cable density, such as subways, tunnels, and high-rise buildings.

XLPE insulated halogen-free low-smoke flame-retardant cables possess excellent flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, and low smoke concentration, making them an environmentally friendly product suitable for densely populated areas such as subways, shopping malls, and schools.

The above products are for general use and are not suitable for special conditions such as underwater, marine, or nuclear power plant applications.

Key Technical Features of the Product:

Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated cables utilize a peroxide cross-linking method, transforming the linear molecular structure of polyethylene into a three-dimensional network structure, and changing it from a thermoplastic to a thermosetting material. This increases the operating temperature from 70℃ to 90℃, significantly improving the cable's current-carrying capacity.

XLPE insulated cables possess superior electrical properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance, environmental stress cracking resistance, and aging resistance, resulting in a long service life.

Halogen-free, low-smoke, flame-retardant XLPE insulated cables exhibit excellent flame-retardant properties. The sheath material is halogen-free, ensuring the release of only small amounts of toxic and corrosive gases during combustion. They produce less smoke, making them an environmentally friendly new product. They also possess superior electrical properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance, environmental stress cracking resistance, and aging resistance, resulting in a long service life.

This product has a simple structure, short manufacturing cycle, and is easy to install and maintain. Laying is not limited by elevation differences.

Use features

The method for expressing the rated voltage U0/U(Um) of a cable is as follows:

U0/U(Um)=3.6/6(7.2)-6/6(7.2)-6/10(12)-8.7/10(12)-8.7/15(17.5)-12/20(24)-18/30(36)-21/35(40.5)-26/35(40.5)kV。

conductor rated operating temperature

The maximum rated operating temperature of the cable conductor is 90℃.

During a short circuit (maximum duration not exceeding 5 seconds), the maximum temperature of the cable conductor shall not exceed 250℃.

Ambient temperature for laying

The ambient temperature during cable laying should not be lower than 0℃; otherwise, preheating is required.

Installation bending radius
