MGTSV optical cable: From inside to outside, the components are: central reinforcement (usually phosphated steel wire), optical fiber, fiber optic paste, loose tube, cable tie, cable grease, steel tape, PE inner sheath, and flame-retardant sheath (blue).
MGXTSV optical cable: From inside to outside, the components are: optical fiber, fiber optic paste, loose tube, thin steel wire (multiple wires wrapped in a loop), steel tape, PE inner sheath, and flame-retardant sheath (blue).
The main difference between MGXTSV and MGXTSV optical cables lies in their structures; the stranded structure is more stable than the center riser structure. MGXTSV optical cables (center riser structure) can only have 2-12 cores, while MGXTSV optical cables (stranded structure) can have 2-288 cores. If your requirement is less than 12 cores, considering cost, MGXTSV is recommended. However, if the core count exceeds 12, the center riser structure cannot be used, in which case MGXTSV must be used. In daily sales, many customers specifically emphasize their need for MGXTSV optical cables because initially, MGXTSV was the universally accepted model for mining optical cables; the term MGXTSV didn't exist. Later, due to market competition for price, MGXTSV emerged. Now, it has also obtained coal mine safety certification for mining optical cables, and in addition to MGXTSV, MGXTSV and MGXTW optical cables are also available.

Both MGTSV and MGXTSV optical cables can be made in single-mode and multimode. The difference between single-mode and multimode lies only in the type of optical fiber. The function of an optical cable is to protect the internal optical fiber (glass filament). Optical fibers are generally divided into single-mode and multimode, with other specifications extending from single-mode to multimode. Another difference between MGTSV and MGXTSV optical cables is their manufacturing process. Stranded optical cables require an additional manufacturing process compared to central riser-tube optical cables: the cabling process.
